Gabs. Funk Soul Jazz Lead Vocalist.
Gabs remembers where it began. It was when she realised she would never be tall enough to be a ballerina. She decided to experiment with other artistic means. She sang and she danced to Neapolitan folks song with her brother for impromptu midnight performances.
Gabs (English-Neapolitan) had her first solo vocalist experience with an 18-piece school jazz band. She later joined her school choir travelling to Germany, Holland and Brussels. It was the ensemble of these experiences and a variety of performance theatre projects over ten years, that led her to finally front a funk soul jazz band called Tonic (www.myspace.com/tonicfunksouljazz) as lead singer for six years. She left Tonic in October 2010.
Gabs has now grown a passion for anything to do with vocal harmony and rhythm. Moving to London sent her into a 1950s Rock n Roll frenzy with a band called The Obscuritones (www.myspace.com/theobscuritones). She now fronts this band with a fellow female vocalist singing her way across London at small quaint 50s hotspots to larger festivals. Gabriella plans to go on a European tour in September 2011.
