SOUL @ O2 Academy, Bristol, 28th Feb 2010

Saturday night at the O2 Academy in Bristol saw the return of some old school legends who rocked the house til 3am…Hosted by none other than Soul Queen Rose Windross, the night began with Odyssey singing classics like “dont you tell me tell her” and “inside out”…up next were Heatwave with more classics and some serious dance moves! Dropping my favourite tune of the night “Mind Blowing Decisions” had me singing along and “always and forever” had me searching for my wifey…last but not least was Gwen Dickey of Rose Royce who grabbed the staged with her diva presence and ended the night with classics such as “wishing on a star” and “car wash”

Jack Jones ft Tugga War & Gappy Ranks – Oh No! Video Feb 2010

A pleasure once again to be on set with the FullyFocused production crew and director Teddy Nygh, with an interesting eye for artistic talent, this time round HipHop vet Jack Jones teaming up with dancehall artists Tuggawar and Gappy Ranks.  The outcome is a well shot colourful video, best viewed at 1080p!  If your connection can handle it…

Well done to all involved, I myself had just had a bad bike accident a few days before and had to move around set at much slower pace than usual, a challenge still!

Stills from the shoot below with full video at the bottom.

15 October 2009 - march 2010

flyer final-1 sq

The exhibition will feature never seen before photographs and memorabilia from private collections of photographers, DJ’s and many more legends in the game, be sure to check this out.

It was great news to hear about this exhibition and be a contributer, the exhbition runs all the way until next March with various performances taking place on certain dates over the coming months, check out the website for updated information:

HomeGrown: The Story of UK Hip Hop is the first major exhibition to chronicle, in depth, the development of the UK Hip Hop scene. Looking back over three decades, the exhibition tells the story of how a generation of youth took the spirit of the  Bronx block party and fused it with their own uniquely British influences. In doing so it shows how a US subculture featuring art, politics, rhyme, dance and music was adopted, adapted and embraced to create a powerful, complex, cultural force, this side of the
Atlantic. Working with the UK’s most influential figures in Hip Hop the exhibition brings together the rare, remarkable and irreplaceable in Hip Hop photography, music, film and fashion from the best private collections.

I have submitted a number of shots I’ve taken over the last 5 years on the UK HipHop scene, check them out below…

Peace
