Young Kings of Comedy @ The Hackney Empire, 19th March 2011

Back once again at the Hackney Empire for another night of laughter and entertainment, hosted by funny man Kat B and featuring the usual suspects – Richard Blackwood – back with fresh material as always, Slim – the realist comedian I’ve ever seen, Kojo – bussin his crazy jokes as usual and Kevin J – this was the first time I saw Kevin and was very impressed, he managed to make the whole of the venue crack up laughing for most of his set, I look forward to checking him out again.

The next Young Kings of Comedy event will take place at the Hackney Empire again and feature a slightly amended line up, check this link out for more info:

The Real McCoy Comedy Xplosion @ The Hackney Empire, 10th October 2009

Back again at the Hackney Empire with a sell out crowd for a night of comedy was members from the Real McCoy plus some special guests:  Felix Dexter, Leo Muhammad, Eddie Nestor, Robbie Gee, Judith Jacob, Dibbi & Special P.  Felix wasted no time in picking out members of the front row to joke with, including me!  Leo came on stage looking busted as usual and made it worse by inviting out a blind woman who had to kiss those mashup lips! (see pics below) she was looking extremly fine also…Special P opened up with his laid back style of telling things how they are…Robbie & Eddie killed it with the transvestite theme, but aint got nothing on Dibbi when it comes to performing as a crazy woman!  The only female comedian on the night was Judith who had some funny stories to tell…Big up Audie and Heartbeat Entertainment for another night of good comedy.

Carnival Comedy Xplosion @ The Hackney Empire, 21st August 2009

carnival comedy explosion (46)

Perhaps one of the funniest comedy nights I’ve covered this year, I was in stitches from
start to finish, which makes it a bit difficult to keep the camera steady!  While peeps
were getting their groove on in Ladbroke Grove, the Hackney Empire was creating a
vibration of pure laughter.  Curtis Walker killed it, making my temples hurt to the point
that I had to take a breather and put the camera down.  Richard Blackwood is at one of his
funniest points in his career, people still ask me if the man has still got it, all they
need to do is come to one show to get clarification.  Eddie Kadi made an appearance which
was a pleasant surprise as he brought some real African comedy to the stage, big up
everyone else involved and Heartbeat Entertainment once again.
