In celebration of Black History Month, QPR in the Community Trust have commissioned two short films in partnership with Jason Nwansi, who is a professional poet and film-maker.

This piece is titled ‘My Badge is My Culture’ and features a specially penned poem, read out by Jason against a backdrop of classic QPR footage and Academy product, Gianni Crichlow, showcasing his skills.

Watch out for a mini-doc featuring club legend Les Ferdinand and members of the Community Trust which discusses race within football that will follow this film, with a release date of Friday 30th October.

bbc new music shorts

Five aspiring filmmakers have had their ideas selected and been awarded £5000 each to make a music-based short film. The films will be premiered at the BBC Electric Proms festival in October and online on BBC Film Network, before commencing a UK festival tour.

The winners of BBC New Music Shorts 2007 were chosen from 456 entries and will make their film under the guidance of experienced producers from Warp Films. Each film is inspired by music from four leading independent record labels – Domino Records, 679 Recordings, Warp Records and Ninja Tune.
